I grew up in the family shoe repair shop with distinct smells of leather and glue. My dad was an expert cobbler and mom was a master colorist. They had an inventory of leather-wrapped high heels that I imagined as my dolls, playing make-believe for hours on the floor beside my dad's feet. I am a cobbler's daughter.
I make assorted small leather goods in my spare time. What I feature on this site is either pet or animal related, just to stay consistent with the theme of my site. My work is hand cut, carved, tooled, stamped, and/or whip-stitched, one piece at a time. No two pieces are exactly alike for two reasons: 1) I don't use templates or patterns for the most part and 2) natural hides will have their own unique characteristics. My style is rustic, distressed and minimalist. Slight inconsistencies in my work are the mark, beauty and charm of a handmade product.
